A Cortlandt cardiologist doesn't agree with the Republican incumbent's vision for his congressional district, so he's eyeing a run.

Dr. Richard Becker, a doctor and Cortlandt Town Board member, says Rep. Nan Hayworth, R-Mount Kisco, is too far right for her constituents, so he's considering a run in 2012.

"I think she's totally out of step with this community," Becker said. "Nan Hayworth is trying to support the Tea Party right and is out of step with our district, which is quite moderate."

Becker founded the Hudson Valley Cardiology Group as well as two other practices affiliated with Hudson Valley Hospital Center.

He recently filed a statement of candidacy for District 19, which covers parts of Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and Dutchess counties.

But his candidacy isn't a certainty; redistricting and the possibility of a primary could affect his run.
