Is anyone in New Mexico pro-active?
I love this state, but I get very frustrated with the people because they're not at all pro-active. If you look on other state's forums (in the State & Country Forums), you will find people post regularly throughout the months, and they mostly discuss political topics, or what is happening with importance in their states. Go to New Mexico, and people are talking about hummingbirds and the rain. That's all fine, but then you see that there are no regular postings each month! Prior to the couple of postings this month (May 2007), the last few postings date back to November 2006! New Mexico people...wake up! You are not living in la la land anymore! Have you noticed that our housing costs are going sky high, and do you know there is no rental control in this state? Do you want New Mexico to turn into another California where people can't afford to buy a home, let alone rent an apartment? It's not a good thing that the developers are building houses all over the beautiful open land of our State! Our Balloon Fiesta is going to be a thing of the past if the balloonist have nowhere to land. Are any of you aware that there are no laws in this state that protect the workers? Have you even looked at any of the antiquated laws on the books (do you even know you can find them on the internet)? Does anyone have opinions about Governor Richardson running for president? What about the Mayor of Albuquerque? How do you feel about the job he is doing? And why the heck is Heather Wilson still here? What happened when the majority of the country voted Democrat, yet Heather, who kisses Antichrist George's butt, is still here in a State that is supposedly a blue State. Come on!!!!! What is everyone doing out there?

I for one am thrilled, and disappointed at the same time, that Richardson is running for President. I would hate to lose him, when he has done so much for the State of New Mexico - it's a tough job attempting to bring this State into the 21st century (because New Mexico's citizens are still living in the 19th century). And don't give me any crap about him speeding on the highways - get over it, and pay attention to more important things. I think he would make a great President - he's better than any of the candidates I've seen so far. Come on New Mexico, start paying attention!

1. Well, yeah, but
this IS a very manana state, ya know. We do care about all the stuff you posted; we just don't get tied up in knots about it all the time (or at least, not very big knots)
