How are all of you voting on Question 1....
...the "Employee Benefits" question?

I've read it four times and it still makes no sense to me. What's the consensus? Good or bad?

1. I'd like to vote "Yes" but I worry about the law of unintended consequences
I would like to see money taken from paychecks for unemployment insurance, disability insurance, or any other employee benefits money is taken for to go to those benefits only. But I am concerned that some legislators will find a way, as always, to twist this to further their own agenda. Republicans are already referring to unemployment INSURANCE as welfare. I've heard them recently referring to Social Security and Medicaid in the same way. Unintended consequences seem to be their forte.

I'm still leaning toward "Yes".

3. It's a tough call
If I understand it correctly it is saying that taxes collected for benefits should only go for those specific benefits. If that is so, there are pros and cons but I am tilting towards voting “yes”.

While I hate paying taxes, I also realize that for the government to function it is a necessary evil.

My main concern is that the question is a trick to restrict the state’s ability to change taxes. We could end up like California.
