How does NH amend it's constitution?
With the inevitable passage and signing of an equal marriage rights bill in New Hampshire I was wondering if someone could educate me on how the constitution in your state is amended? I'm assuming it's via the legislature, as is the case in most all of New England?

1. Quick and dirty: 3/5 vote of each house of the General Court (state legislature)
to place amendment on ballot for the next biennial election. 2/3 voter approval required.

or

A majority of both houses call for a convention. 3/5 delegate approval required to put amendment on general ballot. 2/3 voters approval required.

2. What Sarge said
There hasn't been a Constitutional Convention since 1984, so an amendment would almost certainly originate in the legislature. It's very, very difficult to get a proposal on the ballot. Several attempts to fiddle with the school funding system have flopped in recent years because they never make it out of the House.

3. Trying to get one of the largest legislative bodies in the world
to come to agreement on the time of day is pushing a wet spaghetti strand across a sandbox.
