Betty Hall (I) fucks the Democrat for State Senate
As usual, the run by an Independent candidate (Betty Hall) had the effect
of electing a Republican. Paul LaFlamme (R) won the District 12 State
Senate Seat over the Democratic candidate, Peggy Gilmore even though
the combined vote total of Gilmore + farther-left Hall would have greatly
overwhelmed the Republican. The seat was previously held by a
Democrat (Dave Gottesman) so this makes life 1/24 harder for the
Statehouse Democrats.

Well done, Betty! "Mission Accomplished"!

1. Update: Gilmour, the D, narrowly defeated La Flamme, the R.
As it turns out, Betty Hall didn't quite divert enough votes
to defeat the Democrat. But in the immediately neighboring
Senate District (that shares about half of Nashua), the Dem
won by a much, much larger margin. In my district, we barely
squeeked it out.
