Lynch endorses Republican state senator
Gov. John Lynch endorsed Republican state senator Bob Odell for re-election, stabbing Democratic Rep. Jay Phinizy in the back.

I'm disgusted by this. John Lynch enjoys the support of the Democratic Party elders and the supposed ultra-loyalists, but he pulls a stunt like this and none of them say a word.

I served with Jay Phinizy in the House and co-sponsored mercury reduction legislation with him. He is one of the smartest members of the House, and has an impeccable record of fighting to protect the environment. While we disagree on some issues (oddly, Jay is actually very conservative on gun legislation), he is someone who always shows a thoughtful respect for all viewpoints.

I don;t live in Jay's district, so I can;t do a whole lot, but I just might write in Jay for governor as a small protest.

1. Lynch sucks. With all-too-few exceptions, he might as well be a Republican. (NT)
