Free Staters pack heat while drunk!

What Does Booze and Guns Get You?

What do you get when you combine a group of people often seen open carrying weapons and free flowing booze? Murphy's Taproom, the first free stater owned tavern.

Murphy's Taproom opened this year across from the Verizon Arena in Manchester where Club Omega once stood. Club Omega was known for violence and trouble. In fact it was so bad they actually had a metal detector you had to pass through to enter and they often had police stationed at the entrance to help pat people down before they were allowed to enter. Now as Murphy's the metal detector is gone and in fact the new owner has no problem with patrons openly carrying firearms into the pub while they sit and drink.

As most people who have ever had a gun debate with a democrat would tell you, Democrat would assume such a combination would lead to death in the streets, old wild west show downs etc. After all that's what they continue to spout to push for more gun laws and make it continually harder for anyone to legally carry a weapon. However as Murphy's is proving, quite the opposite is true. On tap room Tuesday's when the free state group gathers there you will often find a large number of people open carrying. And chances are there are even more carrying you do not see. This has lead to a near perfect record for Murphy's, having to only call in the police once in the half year they've been open. A far cry from the prior establishment who had police stationed at it's entrance and who had violence occurring near nightly.

My theory of why you see the vast difference is simple, when you treat someone like a prisoner they act like a prisoner. When people are treated like responsible adults, they act like responsible adults. Once again proof is that responsible people openly carrying guns results in everyone being able to feel safe, where as stripping people from any method of being able to defend themselves created more violence as only those who break rules and seek to harm others will have weapons.

1. It gets better!
Looks like Murphy's Taproom is the gathering place for the anti-government loons who support Ed and Elaine Brown. The owner of the bar and several customers are being questioned by federal law enforcement authorities in connection with the Brown case.

Guns. Booze. Anti-government yahoos. A crowded downtown neighborhood.

Could anything possibly go wrong here?
