Ballot Measures
Anyone know much about the two measures on the ballot next week?

The first deals with eminent domain and the second with redistricting. About all I would find was this NHPR report http://www.nhpr.org/node/11686 . Not much info there, other than that I gather the pubs like the second measure, which of course leads me to believe it is a bad idea.

Full text of the measures here: http://www.vote-smart.org/election_ballot_measures.php?state_name=New+Hampshire&state_code=NH

1. ballot measures
The first one is anti-eminent domain; some people are saying it isn't necessary, some say it will protect you from what happened in New London. I'll probably vote for it. The second one is a Republican driven measure to pemit larger state rep districts; it is in response to a Supreme Court decision on redistricting. I am voting against it; I don't think state reps should run in districts with 12,000 people - that is ridiculous.

2. Thanks
Laura Conoy did a whole show on the second measure yesterday. Unfortunately it did little to clarify the matter other than to reveal that the republicans favor it. That makes my decision quite a bit easier.

3. Sad
Isn't it sad that we have reached the point where if the Republicans support something, we figure we should be opposed? this is what Karl Rove has done to this country - we react on a knee jerk basis. I know I do it.

4. Measure Two shifts more power to the smaller towns.
This makes sense for Rethuglicans because it is usually
the towns that swing their way while the cities swing
towards the Democrats.
