-Voting machine audits and transparency in our election process seems to be the ideas that makes the most sense and already have some backing, with the strange results not matching the exit polls.
-Minimum wage was a great one to get out the working class. What else can go on the ballot?
-Is there a way to penalize companies for outsourcing on a State level, and if so, how do you quantify it?
Since most businesses get some sort of government aid for starting up and opening, maybe there is a way to get them to pay that back if they abandon the region for an overseas plant or office?
-For the State of Nevada, where there is so much hot southern desert wasteland, I think we should push for a massive solar farm. The largest in the country. Not only could it help with our energy needs, but it puts us on an even higher moral ground when it comes to arguing Yucca. Saying we don't want the waste, but offering no solid alternatives to nuclear power isn't the answer.
Clean, renewable energy independence is something that both sides can support. Can we afford to depend on the middle east for energy? California? The Federal Government? Of course not. BOTH SIDES would likely agree with that. Something we can rally independents and non-wacko conservatives to our side with, and something we could realistically accomplish even if we aren't in control, can help us show the public that we can get things done, and that we are on their side.
-When the Christian Coalition began taking hold politically, they started by finding issues everyone(well, a majority anyways) could agree upon and pushing those. They didn't try and push the hard issues first because they knew they would hit a wall. They opened doors first and got inside. We need to find issues that both sides agree with, and make them our agenda, and we need to start now.
