Nebraska, Iowa Politicians React to "Fahrenheit"
http://omaha.cox.net/cci/newslocal/local?_mode=view&view=LocalNewsArticleView&articleId=19617

<snip>
Washington, DC) -- Area politicians had the opportunity to see Michael Moore's new film "Fahrenheit 9/11" in Washington, DC, earlier this week. Iowa Senator Tom Harkin says he was able to see the first half of the film before heading back to the floor to vote. The Democrat said the film is powerful and provocative. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley admits he has not seen the film but is skeptical of a Hollywood interpretation of the Bush Administration. Nebraska Senator Chuck Hagel says he does not plan to see the film and doesn't believe it will have an affect on the upcoming presidential election. The film attempts to show links between the Bush family and business associates to wealthy Saudi Arabian families, including the family of Osama bin Laden. Moore's critics say the film distorts the facts. It opens today in Omaha, Lincoln and Grand Island. The film will also open today in Iowa theaters in Des Moines, Ames, Iowa City, Davenport and Cedar Rapids.

Sorry, the whole piece was only one paragraph long. If this can't be posted this way, somebody fix it. Or delete it. Although it speaks volumes about the politics here in the 'Heartland'.

1. I find it amazing, they are actually afraid to see it...
The way the film depicts Congress shows what a disgrace they are, both the pugs and the Democrats!

5. Hagel is right.
The Diebold machines don't go to movies. And he's a past owner (and electoral beneficiary) of ES&S, so he should know.

7. Past owner?
He still has an interest in the company (McCarthy Company) that owns an interest in ES&S, so, technically, he's still a part owner.

6. I just got back from seeing the movie here in Lincoln.
All the shows yesterday & today were sold out.
The reaction at the 7:20 showing was amazing, crying, laughing and much applause.
