Jackson County residents - CRITICAL Action Alert!! Do this TODAY!!!
The Jackson County Legislature is currently working on COMBAT Prevention and
Treatment funding. Rose Brooks and Hope House are two critical programs that
are looking at possibly receiving serious cuts. Full Funding of these
programs that specifically deal with Domestic Violence is essential for continued
support services that help victims cope with the trauma and aftermath of
violence.

Resolutions 16210 and 16211 will be voted on Monday, April 2nd. The meeting
will be held on the 2nd Floor of the Downtown County Courthouse at 10:00 am.
We have one voice to fight for women's issues on this Legislative Body and
she needs our help! Call or email your County Legislator today!

Tell your Legislator or their aide: · Domestic violence, sexual assault and
stalking are devastating and pervasive crimes that directly affect at least 1
in 4 women in our country and touches the lives of nearly all individuals.
To address this devastating violence, funding for organizations such as Rose
Brooks and Hope House must be a high priority. · I urge you to support full
funding for these local domestic violence programs. · Without full funding,
women and children cannot access the services they need to escape from
violence. · Your continued support is crucial to helping victims and their children
find safety and security and build self-sufficiency.

Be sure to state your first and last name and the district you live in OR
the organization you are associated with.

1. I cannot stress enough how important this is!
I could tell you stories that would bring tears to your eyes about children being affected by domestic violence. It is a very real problem right here in your community.

Rose Brooks has an intervention program where they send counselors into schools to work with kids who are affected by domestic violence. In my school, 10% of our kids are in this program. And those are only the ones whose families are willing to admit there is a problem and give permission for the counselors to work with their children. Any cuts to Rose Brooks funding would most likely eliminate this program.

Please please please call or write your Jackson County legislator TODAY!!

They vote TOMORROW!!
