2. Well, good on you evl
I've met most of the candidates and would like to share my picks. Want to hear others' as well:

Mayor: Funkhouser. Would like to see Nace come in second because Brooks would be a disaster.

4th At Large: Gotta go with Doug Gamble. Anybody but Beth Gottstein is my hope here because she is the Establishment candidate. Would like to see Deth Im in the finals, too because the Sierra Club endorsed him.

4th In District: Mark Forsythe!! Love the blog, love the grassroots-style campaign. He is thoughtful and has integrity coming out his pores. A victory for Mark would be an earthquake for K.C. politics.

6th In District: Darrell Curls because I like most of the people he hangs out with, and I want to vote against anyone who hires Pat Grey. Just don't vote for the Star's choice.

3. Could Nace drive the Stower's institute away?
She took money from Matt Bartle

4. I mostly agree.
I may go with Ezekiel, because I know him.

7. Nace is funded by the far right
and the king of slime political campaigns, Jeff Roe, is running her campaign. Do you want Matt Bartle and his gang running the city? If you do, vote for Nace.

5. Already been! I'm a Funkhouser supporter. Becky Nace's negative
campaign has turned me off. Loading up my mailbox with lots of shiny mailings from "independent concerned groups"...all with the same mailing permit #. Bullshit! If you're gonna smear somebody...be honest about it. I also voted for Deth...it makes me giggle a bit. Dr Funkenstein and Deth. I'm sad...I need more coffee.

6. Funkhouser made a stupid statement about vouchers
just yesterday. As if the mayor had the opportunity to implement a voucher program? And if one was put in place, how much control would the mayor have over it? But it was still a dumb thing to say.

I don't live in KC so I can't vote but the Funk lost me between this pro-voucher statement and his statement about getting the city out of paying for health care. Neither is a very progressive position. He sounds more like a republican all the time.

I have always liked Al Brooks but his campaign was largely unimpressive.

Becky Nace lost when she hired Jeff Roe.

I would probably go with Brooks and Ellis if I was voting.
