15. That is what worries me.
In NYC, after 911, they were given the all clear on the next day. I know of more people who have died from respiratory problems and cancers than I knew who died on 911. I had friends who were sick for months afterwards.

It really worries me because they will protect the big corporations than protect the citizens. I know that there is not much you can do, but please be careful.

At work, they stopped circulating outside air. I don't have that option at home. And there's supposed to be a DFA meeting tonight.

34. Ah thanks Jeanette. I am okay
It was pretty scary though. My husband kept calling me telling me to come home but I couldn't leave while we still had kids to take care of.

Now I am sitting here hoping they pay us all overtime for this. So I guess that means I am really okay. But my eyes are still burning.

My best friend lives less than a mile from the plant where the fire is and she finally got home. She says she is okay but I sure wish she would leave and go stay somewhere else tonight.

We had to evacuate our school. I just posted about it
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=153x7395#7400

The kids were crying. And I have never seen so many buses in my life. Or so many little kids. What a nightmare. I hope we don't have school tomorrow.

we've got some work we need to get done asap. This is a pretty excuse for us to stay and clear the decks. My husband went for a two hour meeting that turned into a little over four hours. In the meantime, I've spent most of the day dealing with another client that dropped in out of the blue.

on edit: then there's the basketball game tonight.:eyes:

20. Earlier on KCTV, Katie was saying
that the smoke plume was going straight up about 2K feet because it was hot air. From there it was spreading into the upper atmosphere in a southwesterly direction. On Fox4 they were saying not to touch anything falling out of the sky and the reporter was standing near this huge charcoal looking lump.

39. Interesting trivia on the chemical company I heard on NPR this morning...
They had a fire a few years ago in Oregon, the plant became a Superfund site, and as a result they had to pay a $24,000 settlement. (No, I didn't leave out any zeros.)

I wouldn't spend any more time outside than necessary today. They've announced the air is "safe", but I'm not very trusting these days.
