Wilson resigns as party chair...
http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/news/local/16562125.htm

<snip>
Wilson announced he would not seek another two-year term as chairman during Saturday's quarterly meeting of the Democratic State Committee, said party spokesman Jack Cardetti.

Instead, Wilson said he would appoint a seven-member committee to select a new chairman, who then would have to be elected by the committee, Cardetti said.

As the party's unpaid chairman, Wilson had been traveling to political meetings and fundraisers about a couple times a week, Cardetti said.

"He didn't think he could devote the same time and energy he had over the next 2 1/2 years," Cardetti said.

Governor Wilson is an amazing guy-it will be tough to replace him.

1. Here's hoping that he is considering running for office again
He would be a great candidate to take on Kit Bond in '08

2. I would love it if that were the reason!
We could have Jay Nixon as Governor, Claire and Roger Wilson in the senate, and Susan Montee waiting to take over for Jay 8 years from now.

3. Add in Robin Carnahan to that mix
I would love to see her take up where her father left off.

4. I doubt if he'll ever run for poltical office again. In my conversations with him, he's always....
expressed disgust with having to beg for money.

So, unfortunately, I don't think that'll happen.

And Bond isn't up for re-election until 2010.

6. I'm afraid you're probably right...
I've also heard him say how he hates fundraising. That made me respect him even more.
