Blunt campaign reopens to pay bill

JEFFERSON CITY — Gov. Matt Blunt's campaign acknowledged Thursday that it had failed to report nearly $6,700 of expenses for a sport utility vehicle during his 2004 election, despite previously closing down his campaign committee.

The filing with the Missouri Ethics Commission marks the second time that the first-term Republican governor has been forced to reopen his campaign committee after previously stating that all debts had been covered.

across the border we've got Adam Taff who took part of his campaign money to defraud a mortgage company. Taff and his boss/co-conspirator forged/altered a $300K check to make it look like Taff was buying his boss' $1.2 million home. Indictments were handed down last week for Taff and his boss.

BTW, Taff still lives in the home, that is until after his trial, so pfffft to a $7K SUV, that's pocket change for Kansas GOP'ers. :shrug: Ahh, whattya going to do. We should just lock them all up.
