State Tournaments to Stay
in Columbia

Cars, vans, and buses descend on Columbia every year looking forward to basketball, baseball, softball and wrestling.

1. Oh for Pete's sake
State Senator Chuck Gross proposed a bill in January to move state tournaments out of Columbia.

But he pulled the proposal on promises students would be assured marijuana is still not legal in Columbia.

Now are these kids coming to Columbia to play ball and watch the games or to buy pot?

2. Oh this is simply another in a long line of tactics that are being used
To flog Columbia. Conservatives in this state have always thought that Columbia was Soddom and Gomorra of the West. Now that they're in power, they're going to punish this town. Strangle the funding to the University, take away tenure at the University, this stupid bill to take away the state tournaments, the name change flap, etc. etc. ad nauseum.

Petty vindictive assholes taking their hypocritical anger out on this town when they're old, but thought it was a great place to get away from Momsy and Dadsy when they were a kid so that they could party their ass off.
