Best things to be proud of from Mississippi
Certainly the bad side is obvious, so keep it to yourself.

Elvis.

Eudora Welty.

Jerry Rice, Brett Favre, Walter Payton, and the Mannings

The Delta blues.

Muddy Waters, often called the Father of Rock and Roll. (Yes, we had the Father, and the King).

Faulkner.

Tennesse Williams.

Jimmy Buffet.

Jim Henson. That's right, I said Jim Henson.

Medgar Evers, and if you think all he did was die, check out http://www.olemiss.edu/depts/english/ms-writers/dir/evers_medgar/

Richard Wright.

The Beau Rivage.

The Natchez Trace.

Grits.

REAL Pralines (Not that taffy crap they have in Texas).

Magnolia trees and Azaleas.

6. As a Texan who went to colllege and law school, in MS
(plus I have a lot of family there and lived a long time there)
be proud of the fact that George Bush does not claim to be from your state.
