MoveOn Rally for Judicial Moderation Today, 5 p.m. Minneapolis
Reposting since I wrote April 26 on the original thread.
Sorry!

An emergency rally has been organized for 5 p.m. today to stop the Republican judicial takeover, as part of a national MoveOn PAC day of action. Almost 200 rallies are planned across the country.

Any day now, Radical Republicans are hoping to seize absolute power to appoint Supreme Court justices who favor right-wing, corporate-biased interests over the rest of us. Please help me send a message to Senators to support fair judges and defend the Supreme Court.

You can get all the info, and sign up to come, at:
http://www.moveonpac.org/event/judicialrallies/698

Here are the details of our event:
Vigil For Judicial Moderation
Federal Courthouse Plaza, downtown Minneapolis, MN
300 South Fourth Street
Minneapolis, MN 55415
Wednesday, 27 Apr 2005, 5:00 PM

Please come! We only have a few days to stop the Republican leadership from making changes that would turn back the clock on generations of progress!

1. Why do they ALWAYS plan rallies during the week at 5:00?
Edited on Wed Apr-27-05 10:27 AM by Love Bug
I know they want to make the evening news, but how in the world do they expect working people to get downtown through traffic, find a place to park and get to the rally by 5? It's not just the MoveOn people, it's other groups, too. They would get a better turnout if they planned these rallies for either later in the evening or on the weekend. And maybe not downtown but some place where you can park your car.

And yeah, I suppose if I really cared about democracy, I should be willing to risk my job by leaving early. :sarcasm:

On edit: BTW, I'm not directing my snark towards you, darlin', you're only the messenger!

2. Re: Parking
I'm heading straight for a surface lot that's at 50 S 4th street. It's just a couple blocks from the courthouse.

3. i took the bus.
of course, i don't have a care. but it's only 1.75 during that time period, and since it was only an hour, you wouldn't have had to pay to get home.

just a suggestion for next time. :-)
