Take 35W when you get to the 35E/W split. Follow that to the 94th Street Exit. Go right (east) at the top of the exit. 94th street dead ends at Lyndale, take a left and you'll see Fong's on your right (east side of Lyndale).

The ordinance in Bloomington is a little stronger than the Hennepin County one...The Bloomington ordinance includes the rule that there is to be no smoking closer than 25 feet to building entrances.

My union (MAPE) is doing a special camp for union organizing/advocacy. It sounds a bit different from the candidate/campaign manager track I did last year, so I figured why not do it again?

Unfortunately for MAPE, we have plenty of room available in the session, too. Considering our upcoming move to the Andersen building (where there is not enough parking), most of us will be getting an effective pay CUT when we move. Also considering that we'll probably not get any raises in the new contract under negotiation (even though we'll probably pay more for our "benefits"), it's a sad situation indeed.

Oh well, at least AFSCME is still putting up a good fight. MAPE needs to grow some cojones, IMHO.

36. WOW, what a mess

I'm a member of the same local where two of the three candidates were from (0201). Apparently, one of the candidates was using people's personal email addresses for campaign purposes, which is apparently forbidden. Also, he didn't put any info on his literature as to who was paying for it-- a big campaign no-no regardless of the campaign.

This candidate was then disqualified, and a run-off was held between the other two. I just heard today that the candidate from my local won the election.

We've also got elections coming up in May, and I'm thinking about running for something or other. We need to get more of our fair-share members to become full members if we're going to have any pull with the current state government.
