Though, strangely enough, I can't think of a great place to have a meet up. There is David Fong's at 94th and Lyndale which is a union establishment and was always welcoming when the Bloomington DFL invaded. The food is good, but a little pricey.

Is there anything along the 494 strip that would work?

Kind of an old-fashioned Cantonese menu for people who don't really like Chinese food, but hey, this is the kind of Chinese food I grew up on. :-)

and get a count, I can call them so they'll have a table set up for us.

Another thing about the Chinese food - with most selections the portion is large enough you can plan on taking half of it home with you.
