Please help fellow DU'erS!!
Hello all.
Lately, I've been aware of how hard it is to have a decent conversation with my friends that doesn't revolve only around gossip.
I feel like I cannot have an intelligent conversation with anybody except my boyfriend.
I blame this partially because I have started working in a small office and I am not currently a student (and I'm looking in to Online courses anyway), therefore, not a whole lot of chance to meet new friends.

my boyfriend and i have felt so isolated lately.
so my question to you Minneapolis citizens, would you be my friend?
would you meet me for coffee this afternoon at lunch and prove to me that i'm not alone in the city?

1. Those of us not in Minneapolis are reaching out to you
Do you have a local Dem club? Or maybe you could start one?

5. Metropolitan State University
I've found that Metro States on-line coursework is fun and the price is right. All depends on what you're looking to accomplish I guess. As far as finding people to talk to I'm in the same boat as you. Since * has been in office it seems it's a little scary to actually speak your mind in a public place. Or at least it feels that way to me. I've found that volunteering in an elementary school classroom and volunteering to coach kids really takes the edge off and helps in making me feel i'm doing something important. Bottom line: cant find a decent adult to talk to, mentor some kids. I think you'll find its really refreshing.

10. Another place to check out:
www.progressivecaucus.net

This is the website for the MN/DFL Progressive Caucus. We meet every few weeks or so and work on various issues of interest to progressive Dems. There's no membership fee and it's open to the public.

There was just a meeting on Tues, but there should be another one coming up again soon. Just check it out every once in a while!

Also, we have a Yahoo! group you may want to investigate, too. That's at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DFLProgressiveCaucus/.

:hi:
