Stevens Point Brewery acquires James Page brands
Just read it this morning.

I have mixed feelings. Point is a good brewery and seems to be in good hands these days. But Page was literally my neighborhood brewery back in NE Mpls.

Schell's in New Ulm brewed the Page brands for a few years, but seem to have given up the ghost.

A lighted James Page beer sign even appears in the movie "Fargo".

1. Take heart
If I learned anything from all those brewery tours in Point, it's that the owners are pretty faithful to original recipes and tastes....they have good brewmasters and respect tradition.....

4. Point is unethical
From personal experience, I can tell you Point Brewing is a sleazy and unethical company. They steal beer recipes. A Point product will never pass my lips.

3. As a beer fan I also am disappointed.
I am sure it will still be great beer and everything. I like the Minnesota feel of the beer. Grain Belt moved to Shells a while ago. I just don't want to see small companies buying all the little guys.
