Who will go up against Norm Coleman in 2008?

A question that is worth asking, my Minnesotan friends.

Who is showing themselves to up against Norm "The Rat" Coleman in 2008? Has anybody gave any signals that they are planning to yet?

I hope somebody will be there to continue the legacy of the late great Paul Wellstone. Perhaps one of his sons would consider running.

3. What difference does it make if the machines aren't un-rigged?

Mondale won by several percentage points in 02 but the ES&S scanners gave the election to Coleman and were never audited or recounted. The machines get more subtle and efficient every year, so what makes you think that next time they won't give the election to the Repubs regardless of who runs?

4. We use paper ballots, and while it's possible to rig the tallying machines

the original paper ballots are preserved.

We do have an organization in this state that will fight tooth and nail to prevent the introduction of paperless voting.

Amy Klobuchar making a run at Normie. That is, if he doesn't try to run for pres or vp.

6. I think she's planning to run for Attorney General in 2006,

assuming Mike Hatch runs for governor.

I don't have any clue who might run against Weasel Boy. I really can't see Franken doing that well statewide. Maybe Becky Lourey (sp)?

While is a good AG, he has a bland Roger Moe feeling (IMO). On the state level, the "rebel Repbulicans" seem to have most people's ear and Hatch will be seen as an "party institution Democrat".

While I would still vote for him, I am not sure if he can get around Pawlenty's percieved charisma.

Hatch has made a pratice of going after insurance companies (especially HMOs), credit card companies and the like. That would probably play well with a lot of people. - Defending the people from crooked corporations.
