Democrats stand for education, civil rights, social equity, family, health care and community. Education is the key. We must, for the sake of our country, fund education til it hurts and hurts bad. People who think about more than just money are Democrats. People capable of empathy are Democrats. The Minneapolis school district is closing 16 elementary schools over 2 years. This is an outrage!! They say they are closing due to declining enrollment. Isnt that just another way of saying class sizes were getting smaller? Isnt smaller class sizes the answer to better education?? Where is the sanity??

Thinking, caring people dont abandon your principles in exchange for inclusion. Work locally and improve globally, we can make a difference!!

1. That's something I've frequenly said,

although I generally worded it as "not AFRAID to lose". That's the spirit that kept the left & labor movement alive for decades at a stretch, during times of severe oppression. That's what the Religious Right has hijacked. The trouble is that when THEY "lose", it's rarely if ever a big thing. But when the left "loses", it's frequently hazardous and sometimes fatal.
