Am I the only one bothered by this dog and pony show?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/fbi-began-investigating-women-accused-of-financing-somali-terror-group-in-the-summer-of-2008/2011/10/06/gIQABfAARL_story.html

We have our government who made a decisions that one side of the Somali conflict was terrorists (in a Civil War is there always a wrong side?). So these Women who had been raising money for one side did not get the memo that it was now illegal to do so. They did nothing to hide what they were doing and funneled some money but not enough to make a difference. For years Irish Americans funded the IRA and I don't remember the FBI investigating small time individuals for this ever.

Anyway to be general from many personal, usually unbiased friends accounts and news accounts Somalis are the French of Africa. As a group they are more stubborn, difficult, opinionated and let you know they are superior. But they are eventually reasonable and do try to do the right thing when they can figure out what that is. I am not so sure I know today.

They are the sacrificial goats to scare everyone else who might do this but are we supposed to do that? A huge investigation since 2008 when if they had sent some serious sounding people in in 2008 when the law changed and said, "look, you cannot do this anymore or we will put you to jail" I would bet they would have just stopped. How much money, how much manpower that could have gone to much bigger, more dangerous criminals like Goldman Sachs, Rumsfeld, and Yoo was spent on these two most misguided women. Did they even have access to the information that what they were doing was illegal? Those other three did These communities are very insular. I guess I will have to wait and see. As for immoral, the US government has no business persecuting or prosecuting people on moral grounds We lost that right totally at least 11 years ago.

That is my 2 cents for the day.
