Repubs already pouncing on Dayton.....
here's the article and video:

Just hours after Margaret Anderson Kelliher conceded the DFL primary race to Mark Dayton, the Republican Party of Minnesota released a new ad targeting the former U.S. Senator. The ad, title “Erratic,” takes on some of the well known gaffes from Dayton’s career, including — predictably — closing his Senate offices due to terrorism concerns and grading his own performance as senator at an “F.”

4. Here is how to blow it out of the water
Among the headlines promoted by publisher Thomas Dunne Books: Ridge was never invited to sit in on National Security Council meetings; was “blindsided” by the FBI in morning Oval Office meetings because the agency withheld critical information from him; found his urgings to block Michael Brown from being named head of the emergency agency blamed for the Hurricane Katrina disaster ignored; and was pushed to raise the security alert on the eve of President Bush’s re-election, something he saw as politically motivated and worth resigning over.

7. I was so glad to see that
It can't be stressed enough that Mark closed his office during a recess. He was the only member of Congress (none of who would be in D.C. themselves) who was not willing to leave his staff behind to face any risks, real or imagined by Bush.

I always really wondered if this was a somewhat clumsy attempt to call Bush's bluff on it as I do recall the administration was having one of its "all terra all the time" spasms. I wouldn't trust the intelligence reports they were showing Congress not to have been complete fabrications. I also seem to recall that most of us here were pretty skeptical about it at the time.
