MN Majority brings ACORN witchhunt local
:puke:

The ultra-conservative Minnesota Majority group is pushing for a local investigation of ACORN in Minnesota. The nuttery and paranoia continues.

ST. PAUL, Minn. - A conservative group and several gubernatorial candidates are asking Democratic Attorney General Lori Swanson to investigate ACORN over voter registrations and other activities in Minnesota.

Minnesota Majority president Jeff Davis says a felon convicted of registering illegally in Ramsey County claimed an ACORN canvasser helped her. He was joined at a news conference on Wednesday by a handful of GOP candidates and one Democrat.

Minnesota ACORN official Kevin Whelan says he was unaware of the allegation. He says ACORN turns in all registrations it collects, while flagging those that look suspicious.

A Swanson spokesman says the attorney general will look at Minnesota Majority's request to see whether it raises issues in her jurisdiction.

1. Anything to keep people from voting and to subvert democracy

Ah, those wacky Republicans.

2. How about supporting Mac Hammond's LIving Word Christian Center ?
Remember all the campaigning he did for Michelle Bachman?

The tax exempt he receives would probably add up to a lot more than anything MN ACORN has received from the Feds or the State.

Is the "Prosperity Gospel" facing a recession? With donations dwindling, Mac Hammond, the high-flying pastor of Living Word Christian Center in Brooklyn Park, says his private jet is for sale.

This comes amid an investigation by the U.S. Senate into some of Hammond's contemporaries -- including one who leads a church where Hammond serves on the board -- and allegations that some ministers may have improperly solicited funds for presidential candidate Mike Huckabee during a conference at which Hammond spoke.

Living Word has fallen $40,000 to $70,000 short of its weekly budget in recent months.

3. Someone encouraging people to register to vote...
...doesn't know if any of those people are felons.

That's why it's the state which actually registers people. They have access to that information.
