I read this over at the Star Trib in the comments section of an article, but if Coleman loses to Franken, the only Senate/Governor election he'll have won was over someone...who died.
Ouch.
I guess I had never thought of it that way before.
Technically, he defeated Mondale in 2002 as Wellstone was no longer on the ballot (though I don't think he'd won if Wellstone had lived). It's not like in 2000 when John Ashcroft was actually defeated for Senate in Missouri by Mel Carnahan who had died too close to the election to have a his name removed from the ballot.
