Honestly, I had no idea Erik Paulsen was such a wingnut.

Saw some highlights of last night's 3rd district debate. Madia sounded very good. Loved his answer to the gay marriage question - and Paulsen's response showed what an extremist he is. Then the Independence candidate chimed in with how Republicans like Paulsen are the reason he's no longer a Republican! What the heck are MN-3 Republicans thinking, nominating such a winger to take moderate Ramstad's place?

Did anyone attend? How did the debate go as a whole?

1. I saw that too, Paulsen really reached to to the "base"

with the clips I saw on KARE 11 News at 10. I agree Madia sounded really good, fair, and creditable. I also laughed when I heard that comment. The IP Candidate is the normal style Republican many people still expect in Minnesota, even though most of the party movers and shakers themselves are way out there.

2. Jim Ramstad is no moderate

The Rammer was a nut too.

ON EDIT: The above realization came to me when he (rammer) sent out a mailing that contained a picture of him (rammer) shaking Grover Norquist's hand.

3. I think Paulsen is worse - more like Bachmann.

And I just hate that cutesy, yet grammatically incorrect, ad he's running with his kids.
