Anyone been by the Leamington Municipal Parking Ramp in Mpls this past week?

Since early last week, the Leamington Municipal Parking Ramp (on East 10th and 11th Streets between South 2nd and 3rd Avenues -- two blocks north of the Mpls Convention Center) appears to have been taken over by the Minneapolis PD. The windows of the lobby section along 2nd Avenue have been masked over. The place looks like it has been locked up tighter than a drum, saving the two vehicle entrances on 10th and 11 Streets. There are security checkpoints at each of those entries manned by Minneapolis PD. Dozens of police vehicles are parked on both sides of three of the surrounding streets - around half of which are vans. There is an ice-making trailer parked just inside the 10th Street entry, as if they expect the need to provide fluids to lots of people.

Does anyone know what is happing there? I wonder if this is going to be used for overflow from St. Paul, or for sweeps in Minneapolis--or both.

Whatever the case, it is sure creepy walking by there late at night.
