2. Your link is broken Princess
It doesn't go to a story, but rather back to the GD topics page.

3. Rats and now I feel too lazy to look for the orignal post
The link should have taken you to a post about McCaskill authoring a resolution that John McCain is a U.S. citizen and eligible to run for president. Personally, I don't have any doubts about McCain's eligibility, I just would think it's up to a Republican to introduce this sort of thing. And, if there truly were a Constitutional question about whether or not McCain could be president, wouldn't it be up to the courts, not Congress to decide?

4. Courts smorts
The law also requires the prez and vice to be from different states. Currently we have two crazy residents of Texas occupying el casa blanca.

Here is a link to the story...

5. Wyoming
I believe Cheney's legal residence is in Wyoming. I'm sure he owns real estate there. He changed his legal residence after he was announced as VP. I have serious issues with both of these idiots but that is kind of a dumb law. Who really cares what state they are from.

6. Not a law, it's a constitutional requirement
It would take a constitutional amendment to change it. And it was enacted to prevent the consolidation of power into one state. Like, let say, the domination of two oil men from Texas.

7. The Pres and VP can be from different states
Electors of the state, let's say Texas in 2000 if both Bush and Cheney were deemed residents of that state, could not have cast their electoral votes for both, the electors have to choose on or the other.

8. I think you meant they can be from the same state
I'd forgotton that little tidbit about the electors from that state not being able to vote for both. I imagine that goes back to when the presidential candidate with 2nd highes electoral vote total became the vice president.

9. Voting to give telecoms retroactive immunity was enough
I might pay to hear Chris Dodd speak but not McCaskill.
