Got a followup call from the RNC asking about absentee voting

Just now (caller ID said 'Republican National Committee') - the woman said she was following up on the absentee voting mailer they sent. Here's our short conversation:

Did you receive it?

Yes. And we wondered why since we're registered Dems.

Oh. Well, you must be on someone's list. Will you be absentee voting or going to the polls?

I haven't decided. (will not give them info on our voting habits)

Well, can President Bush count on your support?

Absolutely not. Please take our name and number off your list.

I'll see what I can do.


Prior to getting their mailer, we had gotten a taped phone message from bush himself, telling us it would be coming and how important it was to vote early, by absentee.

Prior to that call, my husband took one asking if you're not voting for b/c how likely are you to vote for Nader?

1. My wife got a similar message

Her first thought was to take up as much time as possible to impede them to contact someone else. But when they asked if they could count on a vote for Bush, she lost it and told the women "I don't like him and I would NEVER vote for him." My wife then hung up.

2. I would have said

Oh yeah, Bush or bust! Add me to your YES voters! However, take my god damn name OFF of your stinking list. I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST that PRESIDENT BUSH enacted and how dare you call ME!

Then, I'd hang up on them!

Fuck them! Play games with their stupid minds. Let them spend their ugly money calling people up. Lie like shit to them just like they have lied to us.

Tell them the opposite of your intended plans.

Keep them in the dark and VERY confused.

P.S. Good thing they never have called me!
