My excursion down highway 169 yesterday -- GOOD NEWS!
Yesterday afternoon (Sunday, 9/26), my wife and I went to visit her folks, who live about midway between Belle Plaine, Jordan and New Prague, in the southwest corner of our fair state.

This has traditionally been strong Republican territory. And when they send Democrats to congress, they tend to send centrists like Tim Penny or David Minge, as opposed to liberals like Jim Oberstar or Martin Sabo.

In our ride down and back, I sighted ONLY ONE JOHN KLINE sign the ENTIRE trip. This also includes a detour to avoid Renaissance Fest traffic on the way down. However, I spotted at least six Theresa Daly signs-- several of them the jumbo-sized ones farmers put out on the edge of their fields.

In fact, the only Kline sign I spotted was in a new subdivision outside of the town of Belle Plaine-- and that one was surrounded by Kerry/Edwards and Daly signs.

I was afraid that we may have some problems in greater MN, but if support is this strong for Democrats in historically Republican territory, we may not have as much to worry about as we think!

Who knows....maybe we'll shed not only a Kennedy in the 6th, but also a Kline in the 2nd?

1. This is great news! Also, we had the report last week about sugar beet
farmers leaning toward Kerry, after supporting bush in 2000.

Hooray! :dem:

2. I was in the thick of Renaissance Fair traffic, and saw more K/E signs
than those displayed by the terminally stupid...
And even at the Renaissance, what few political messages I did see were all K/E.
YAY!

3. The Kline/Daly race has not received
the amount of attention it deserves. It is competitive and a Daly win would not be a surprise at all.

5. WTF?
That's AWESOME!

On a related note, me and the Mrs. got stuck behind a care with a "SPORTSMEN FOR BUSH/CHENEY" sticker on the way home from work on I-94 in St. Paul. Needless to say, it was the ONLY B/C sticker I saw last night-- and I usually see one or two after 5:00 pm.

MN is going K/E, without a doubt. I'm sticking with 5%, for now, but I wouldn't be suprised if it's higher!
