Milking it for every drop
ya know... this really isn't about the Marriage Ammendment, it's all about getting out their vote this fall. Well IMO people are going to get sick of it. There is far too much to be done right now, and people will remember last Summer.

Ethics complaint filed against Senate Majority Leader

Rejecting calls to move on, Senate Republicans allege that Dean Johnson lied about conversations with Supreme Court members about Minnesota marriage laws.

Senate Republican leaders filed an ethics complaint against DFL Senate Majority Leader Dean Johnson this morning, saying an investigation is needed to get to the bottom of a recorded conversation in which Johnson said Supreme Court justices had assured him they would not overturn state law to allow same-sex marriage.
Senators Claire Robling, R-Jordan and Mike McGinn, R-Eagan, both assistant minority leaders, said in a statement released this morning that "the facts have been elusive. Sen. Johnson's story has been constantly evolving. The integrity of the Minnesota Senate and the Minnesota Supreme Court has been diminished."

1. Hasn't Johnson learned yet there are 2 standards of behavior?
One for DFL and one for R? If indeed he lied about speaking to the justices, it was extremely stupid for him to do so, considering how Dems are always held to a higher standard than Repugs.

And whenever a repug starts screaming about integrity I want to puke.

And, yeah, this makes a handy distraction from the real issue -- trying to force through this amendment.

2. Yes it is a distraction, for the amendment but also
they do want to take over the senate. If this is the issue which "trips" up DFLers, they will take it. While many would be happy if the anti-gay marriage ammendment passes, it is really about power of the senate and then complete control of state government by the GOP.
