New Minnesota Candidate for Governor: Satanic Dark Priest and Vampyre
http://www.jonathonforgovernor.us/Home_page.html

At least he's not running as a DFL candidate...

"Honesty is very seldom heard nowadays, especially
from a politician. So, I am not going to break from
political tradition. My name is Jonathon “The
Impaler” Sharkey, Ph.D., L.D.D.D. I am a Satanic Dark
Priest, Sanguinarian Vampyre and a Hecate Witch. My
Magikal Path name is: Lord Ares.

I despise and hate the Christian God the Father. He
is my mortal enemy.

However, it doesn't mean that I hate all his
followers. This Country was founded on religious
rights and freedoms. This is guaranteed under the
1st Amendment of our great constitution. This right
allows me to worship Lucifer and the Goddess
Hecate, just as it allows you to worship the god of
your choice."

You know, more evidence of "Christianity Under Attack." When will O'Lielly start reporting this?

3. I wouldn't vote for him....
He's running for President in 2008 and when he wins we'll be without a governor! ;)

Check this out...
Any Terrorist who is caught in Minnesota while I am governor, will find
out what the true meaning of my nickname: “The Impaler!” I will impale
them right in front of our State Capital. Then Fed’s can take the
terrorist’s body from the impaling stake. If the US Department of
Justice (DOJ) wants to charge me with brutally murdering a terrorist,
they may do so. I do not see an American Jury convicting me.

He's perfect for Republicans. He's a NASCAR fan and bows down to the dark lord satan.
Maybe he'll take away some votes from Feelenty ;)

5. If I were on that jury, I would convict!
Why are Republicans so eager to abandon the very principles of our Democracy?

10. Is he running as an Independent? Some of his positions are alittle extreme
6) Any one found committing an act of terrorism in
Minnesota will be IMPALED by me at the State Capital.
If the US DOJ wants to prosecute me for it, then I will
take my chances in Court, for I do not believe an
American Jury will convict me of brutally killing a
terrorist!

Some I can agree with, though:

4) Better benefits for all Minnesota Veterans,
especially those who were injured in the Gulf Wars,
Vietnam, any and all combat operations, along with
those who were injured during military service.

5) I will not allow the activation of any Minnesota
National Guard Units to fight in Iraq. I will lobby to
bring our Guard troops back from Iraq ASAP! I will
defy President Bush if need be.

He also has a better health care plan than Pawlenty.

13. I actually agree with him...
"I despise and hate the Christian God the Father. He
is my mortal enemy."

except that I don't even believe he exists...but close enough

but everything else he says is pretty moronic at best!

16. Impaler arrested on outstanding warrants
http://wcco.com/topstories/local_story_031105113.html

(AP) Mora, Minn. A candidate for governor whose platform includes public impalement of terrorists found himself behind bars Tuesday on a pair of outstanding arrest warrants.

Jonathon Sharkey, 41, of Princeton, Minn. was arrested Monday night on two felony counts from Indiana, said Mike Smith, the Mille Lacs County jail administrator. One warrant was for escape, another for stalking.

Smith didn't have any other information and Sheriff Brent Lindgren didn't immediately return a phone call.

Sharkey launched his campaign last month. His platform includes an emphasis on education, tax breaks for farmers and better benefits for veterans, but he also said he favored impaling certain wrongdoers in front of the State Capitol.

17. Damn, guess this means he won't be wrestling tonight at
First Avenue:

http://blogs.citypages.com/blotter/2006/01/sharkey_on_shar.asp

It was only a matter of time before Eddie Sharkey and Jonathon Sharkey hooked up. The former is the long time Twin Cities wrestling promoter. The latter, of course, is the self-described "vampyre" who is running for governor of Minnesota under a platform that calls for impaling Osama Bin Laden, child molesters and, possibly, George W. Bush.

Aside from the common name, the promoter and the vampire have something else in common: a background in professional wrestling. After learning of the political hopeful's ring experience, Eddie Sharkey, who can always be counted on to work an angle, invited the Impaler to appear on a January 31 wrestling card at First Avenue. The answer, Eddie says, was an unequivocal "yes."

"I talked to him for a while last night. Nice enough guy. Very friendly," he reports. "I've never seen him in action. But he seemed quite excited about the wrestling thing."

So did the two come to financial terms? Not yet. But the promoter doesn't think it will be a problem. "He's worked independent shows down in Florida. He knows there's not much money. I imagine I'll give him $40 or $50 bucks. If it was Halloween, maybe I'd give him $60."

After pausing a moment, he seems to reconsider. "Vampires are hard to find these days. Maybe I should give him a little more."

18. I've read his website and he has a surprising number of...
references to marital and relationship difficulties (always the woman's fault, of course). So, the warrant for stalking doesn't come as a shock.
