John Kerry asks us to donate to Chris Coleman.
St. Paul mayoral candidate.

The incumbent, Randy Kelly, endorsed George W. Bush last year.

via email:

Now more than ever, we need leaders we can count on. We need men and women who will stand up for what they believe in and stand by their party and their principles.

Chris Coleman, our friend and fellow Democrat, is that kind of person -- and, as he runs for Mayor of Saint Paul, it's time for us to stand with him.

Please join me in endorsing and supporting this extraordinary leader. Lend your help to the Coleman campaign right now.

Whether it was the 2004 presidential campaign in Minnesota, or the "Vote Yes for Saint Paul Kids" school referendum in 2002, Chris Coleman has always made it clear what he believes in and never wavered in supporting those who share his values.

I am writing today to ask you to join me in endorsing Chris Coleman for Mayor of Saint Paul and join me in making a major commitment to help him win this critical Mayor's race in November.

http://kerry.chriscolemanformayor.com/contribution

Chris has worked tirelessly throughout his career for a better Saint Paul: As the father of two kids in public schools, he understands the challenges Minnesota's public schools face due to the devastating cuts of the Bush and Pawlenty Administrations. As a former prosecutor, he fought crime in your communities. As a City Councilmember, he was a powerful advocate for police, firefighters, and protecting the environment.

This is the kind of leader that Saint Paul needs -- a mayor who will put the needs of the people of the city ahead of politics and personal gain.

Take a minute right now to visit Chris' campaign website.

Learn about his plans to resist devastating cuts in funding for Saint Paul schools at the federal, state and local levels. See what he has to say about putting more cops on the street and about standing up to the Bush administration when they try to leave our citizens behind and break their promises to our children.

Then please act to help the Coleman campaign in any way you can.

Here's where we can start. As we endorse Chris Coleman's campaign for mayor, let's back up our words with a wave of individual donations from members of the johnkerry.com grassroots community all across Minnesota.

With just nine weeks to go to Election Day, please consider sending $90 right now -- ten dollars a week towards victory on November 8th.

http://kerry.chriscolemanformayor.com/contribution

Chris needs our help to build a powerful grassroots organization to share his vision for Saint Paul and to get out the vote for the critical race.

I intend to be there for him every step of the way right through to Election Day on November 8th. I know he can count on you to do the same.

Like Chris Coleman, you are part of a proud progressive tradition in Minnesota politics -- one that includes some of our party's greatest leaders -- Humphrey, Mondale, Wellstone. Chris Coleman is that kind of leader, one who never stops fighting for what's right.

Let's give him the immediate and forceful political support he so richly deserves and so urgently needs.

Sincerely,

John Kerry

P.S. After you make your own donation and pledge your personal support to Chris Coleman, please pass this message on to friends and colleagues across the state. Then, nine weeks from now, we'll celebrate an enormous victory together.

Prepared and paid for by Friends of John Kerry, Inc, 511 C Street, NE Washington, DC 20002, in support of Chris Coleman for Mayor.

1. I received an email from John Kerry today and just asked him to
take me off his email list. I don't think I'd vote for him for dog catcher after what happened before...

Sorry.

3. You can donate to Chris Coleman's mayoral campaign
regardless of what you think of John Kerry.

For example, if you don't think that the heavily Democratic city of St. Paul should have a mayor who endorsed George W. Bush, that is a reason to donate to Chris Coleman.

5. So I did
Fifty bucks for Chris Coleman.

Is he perfect? No.

Do we need to rid St. Paul of Bush sycophant Randy Kelly? Yes.
