Yellow Elephant Alert! College Republicans at State Fair 8/25
The Minnesota College Republicans will be having CR day at the State Fair on August 25th! We will be volunteering at the Republican Party of Minnesota’s booth at the fair and we are planning to have special projects, including street theater to promote John Roberts for the Supreme Court as well as Social Security Reform. Source: College Republican Update, 8/9/05

This is a great opportunity for Operation Yellow Elephant to inquire of these fine young CR volunteers why they haven't volunteered for a more important cause--the war in Iraq that they so fervently support--particularly since recruiting levels are still plummeting. Since EVERYONE at the State Fair likes to hand out stickers, here's some for handing out to the Colllege Republicans:

Or you might want to bring along a Bingo card and survey the CR volunteers on why they haven't signed up yet:

2. Hey - I was already planning to go to the fair the 25th
with 2 of my most apolitical friends. I think I'll take some enlistment forms with me.

5. Plan to hit the fair
but just not the 25th. I will have fun at the Republican booth in some other way.

6. Remember that college student that went around putting red stars on her
professor's doors. Anyone give me the address? I'll print up a bunch and mail them to the professors she insulted.

9. I hope she becomes a 3rd trimester abortion test case.
Seriously, I know it's not right to wish ill on people you don't agree with, but how dare this little dumb ass be so sanctimonious. If someone has to be forced to carry a baby with half a brain or all its organs outside its body to term, I hope to God it is someone like her.

I can hardly blame the college republicans for shunning military service in iraq. Adults forget the force of fads over the youth. Risking one's life to establish an Islamist theocracy is, frankly, falling out of fashion.

Today's young republican has moved past the "he said/she said" of the Iraq war. And the President has too. We all need to get on with our lives. The War on Terror will now turn to activist judges. No need for enlistment contracts during this phase. This battle will require our finest actors, street actors.

Lets pray no ne'er-do-wells show up during these performances. In old England, ladies would hand out white feathers to able-bodied men who refused to fight in war. Does pointing out the cowardice of the college republicans give comfort to the enemy?

11. If you're going to the Fair today, don't forget recruiting forms!
We want to make sure we get those College Republicans signed up for their war. They need to show that those 1,800-plus who already have spilled their blood for oil and a new theocracy in the Middle East died for a noble cause.
