17. Clark 2008 - not Gore
Clark is 1st, not 2nd, in anything!

2. Other
Depends on who else is running...

If he got the Dem nomination I would very happily vote for him....But he's not my first choice.

4. Yes, but I'm not an idiot. I will look @ the candidates as they announce
and reevaluate as things get closer.

Though I love Clark people change. Who knows it may not be to my liking in 4 years.

I want to be fair and make the best choice for the current time.

7. It's too early to worry about 2008
If we can't take back at least one house of Congress in 2006, it won't matter who is running. Even a Democrat who wins will be powerless if the Republicanites still control both the House and the Senate.

And I'm not limiting my presidential possibilities to people who ran in 2004, either.

The ideal candidate for 2008 may not yet be in the public eye.

I know one thing--I'm not interested in anyone whose only qualification is that some image consultant thinks he's "electable."

8. Ditto. Too early to focus on 2008. Plus these 08 threads always
end up getting locked.

That's why we have groups.
Clark:

We also have groups for Kerry, Edwards, Gore, Boxer, Dean, Kucinich, Warner, Clinton, and Feingold.

I think the admins would like us to use those groups for discussing candidacies this early in the game.

Just saying.

13. Judging from the headlines ...
The difference between a Republican and Democrat's divorce is that the former involves forced sodomy or swingers clubs. You might be right about it hurting Feingold, but that really isn't right. I think Dennis K had two divorces and it didn't seem to come up during the campaigns.
As far as it being too early for 2008, your probably right but I think some of us are just having fun and blowing off steam. We will be there for 06 Senatorial and House candidates for sure.
My vote, yes definitely!

14. you're right about the the Repug's double standards on morality

I have nothing against potential candidate threads but in the very recent past even innocent threads turned into flamefests and the admins considered banning them altogether. Obviously that didn't happen. But passions do run high!

We liberals are nothing if not passionate -- and loyal.

BTW, welcome to DU!

I voted for Kerry last year, felt really dirty about it, and it wound up not mattering anyway. I think this year I'll take a year off and vote my consience.
