Attorney runs for secretary of state

Christian Sande, a Minneapolis attorney and television legal commentator during the 2004 election, announced Monday his candidacy for Minnesota secretary of state in 2006.

Although he is running as a Democratic-Farmer-Laborite, the St. Paul-born, New Brighton-raised Sande said Minnesotans can trust him to "oversee our elections in a fair, open and nonpartisan way."

"I will not stand by and watch our fundamental right to vote be reduced to a game between the political parties," said Sande, a graduate of Hamline University and William Mitchell College of Law.

Sande has represented clients in election law, environmental protection and class-action cases. He was a commentator for KMSP-TV on 2004 election night. His Web site is at www.christiansande.org.
