My son hugged Gov. Granholm!!
I have the pics up on my blog. It was an amazing moment on Monday, one I will never forget. After the rally, I got to meet her, and she gave me a hug and said she was praying for me, since the cancer has really stopped most of my work for the Party. She is freakin' awesome!

2. Oh, thank you! I couldn't figure out how to post the pic.
He told her that he loves her, and then on the way home, he told me mom that we have her signs up so she can find our house. Poor thing--we don't have enough money for a personal visit. :)

I called a guy I know in the coordinated campaign office, and he loves the picture and said he'll pass it up the chain. It's just such a good, real picture, you know?

Here's the link to the campaign photo album with him giving her a "high five," and that's my mom with the camera next to him with Lt. Gov. Cherry behind her.

4. I Read Your Web Page
I went to your website, printed it, and read the whole thing. The pictures were great and very cute, the story about meeting Gov. Granholm was fun to read, and shows again how wonderful she is, but I was really moved by your diary entries about your cancer and how it is going. I, also, will pray for you and hope for more continued good medical care. I hope the treatment is progressing well, and that even though it is very scary, that you and the doctors and nurses, etc., are catching things and dealing with them. Cancer is very scary, I have known people who have had it, some types are worse than others of course, but I hope you know the love of your family, and that its progression will be stopped. Medical science has made a lot of progress on things, and they can be beaten.

5. Thank you. Bless you.
So far, everything's on hold because of the specialist. The fourth pathologist still hasn't rendered a verdict on what it was, and everything is waiting for that. Depending on what he finds, I might not have any more treatment, just very close watching. I hope that's what happens--some of the further treatments for kidney cancer sound just awful (normal chemo and radiation don't work on most kidney cancers, so they use some other icky things instead).

Right now I'm just cranky from the pain of the surgery. I'm still suprised at how much it hurts three weeks out. I guess I shouldn't be, considering how big the scar is and the fact that he had to cut out some of my rib. Still, it's quite annoying.

I need all those prayers right now. I'm leaning on them.

6. Hey knitter....hope you're feeling better soon!
First of all, what a great, happy son you have! Thanks for sharing the photo.

I know this must be a really tense, uncertain time for you. It's hard to muddle through each day, trying to reassume a sense of normalcy in your life at this point. Try to stay as positive as you can, and don't beat yourself up if you have a bad day or meltdown.

Be well!

11. I can't imagine why you'd be giddy today!
Anyway, I self-deleted. I didn't want you to think I was on your case. :)

12. LOL, no problem
I appreciated the correction. It's weird - I was really still in shock and a sort of disbelief till just the past few hours. I like this new reality!
