2. Volunteer
I wrote Mr. Marcinkowski ages ago, never got a response, but I'm still looking to volunteer! Not looking for a paid position, since I'm just a high school junior at Lake Orion.

Does Jim have an office up in the Orion/Oxford area?

I've been helping Nancy Skinner in the 9th, but gas prices and my work schedule make it hard to get out to Birmingham too often lately. It'd be nice if there was someplace closer I could help out at!

(Don't worry Skinner Team, I'll still be out there when I can ;)

4. The Orion Area Democratic Club will meet August 20th at the Orion Twp Lib
I'm the chair of the Orion Area Democratic Club, keep in touch with our web site www.oriondems.com and Meetup group http://democrat.meetup.com/645/. If you join the meetup you can receive communications until I get your email address.

When the office opens, probably in Clarkston, there will be a need for volunteers there.

The North Oakland Democratic Club will be at the Oakland County Fair at Springfield Oaks this week. You can check on them via their website http://www.northoakland-dems.org/index.htm

9. Orion Area Democratic Club will meet August 17th (not the 20th)
Jim Marcinkowski is expected to be there, along with his campaign manager Brian Wilcox, Oakland Field Organizer Bruce Fealk, and Oakland County Democratic Party Chair Dave Woodward.

There has never been a better time to attend an OADC Meeting!

Orion Twp Library, August 17, 7:00 PM, Meeting Room B

3. The Marcinkowski Campaign is looking to hire a coordinator for Oakland Cty
Edited on Sun Jul-23-06 09:18 PM by pwreid
As you might know, the 8th Congressional District includes the northern tier of townships in Oakland County except for Oakland Twp and 4 precincts in Orion Twp (Southeast corner, adjacent to Oakland Twp.) The remaining townships, Addison, Oxford, Orion, Independence, Brandon, Holly, Groveland, Springfield, and Rose are all in the 8th District.

The Marcinkowski campaign is planning to open an office in the Clarkston area sometime in August, but needs a full-time person to staff the office. The purpose would be to organize precinct workers (turf cutting), to help ID Dems, Independents, and "persuadable" Republicans. Also, to establish a presence in Oakland county, help coordinate house parties and fundraisers, etc. (No job too big or too small.)

This person would be "direct" to the Campaign Manager, Brian Wilcox. (bjwilcox@gmail.com) The office phone number (in Brighton) is 810-229-3005. There is also an office that just opened in Lansing (I don't have that phone number). Regarding wages, benefits, and conditions of employment, I have no idea. I do know there is a goal to hire someone in the near future.

Preliminary polling shows that Oakland County will be important to the success of Jim Marcinkowski, who is also a resident of Oakland County (Lake Orion). There are two Democratic Clubs in this area, The North Oakland Democratic Club and the Orion Area Democratic Club. These two clubs have some knowledge of the area.

5. Phil, I've been helping Nancy in the 9th
When Jim opens his Clarkston office, I'll stop by and get a precinct list and be more than happy to walk Oxford in my spare time.

10. Waterstone ...
Gasperc,

I live in Waterstone and this Saturday (Aug. 26) we're having a large neighborhood party. I've contacted Jim Marcinkowski's press secretary (Kelly) and she's going to try to fit Jim into coming to the party.

If you want to be there, or if you want to buddy up and knock on doors for Jim, let me know.

Scott
