2. I'm from the beautiful Green Mountain State of VERMONT!
Home of Dean, Leahy, Sanders and Jeffords.
84 degrees here yeterday and daffodils blooming...all the windows open and lots of breeze. Truly heaven!

Bummer! I'm leaving all this beautiful planting weather for Florida tomorrow. Going to miss DU something awful. See you all again end of April.

4. Born in Ann Arbor, moved to Mt. Clemens....
then grew up in the Lansing area. Back to Ann Arbor for school. I do get back to Ann Arbor often; it's still as great as ever!

My family had been in the Detroit area since about 1801. So when we were in Mt. Clemens, we considered ourselves 8th generation Detroiters.

6. I'm from Michigan, Pontiac/Waterford to be exact
Born and raised. I live in KY now, moved there almost 2 yrs ago - but I still visit MI often and my entire family still lives there so I keep up with local politics somewhat (both Oakland and Genesee counties, since I most recently lived in Davison).

7. Detroit
But I went to college in Western Michigan (University to be precise).

Now I live in Chicago, though the majority of my family still live in the greater Detroit area, so I visit every couple of months. I grew up on the Northwest side, on Hartwell between McNichols & Outer Drive.

redford, specifically. i've lived several different places in the state.

i am pretty sure i now have the distinction of being the only liberal in livingston county. okay, that's not entirely true. i did see a car at the grocery store one day that had a kucinich bumper sticker on it. i still wonder who it was...

48. sanders closing was a sad day
as kids, we'd get taken out for a sanders hot fudge marshmallow sundae as a treat when we did something especially good.

i also reward my kids with "ice cream out" from time to time, but it's just not the same. *sigh*

My nephew, Joe Dey, is a wide receiver on the Alma College Scots football team.
I lived in Petoskey from 1977-80 (524 State, apt 1) and attended North Central Michigan College (Go Ferrets!). Also, like MSchreader, I am a graduate of Saginaw Arthur Hill HS (though my second cousins, the Inmans, all went to Dow -- you probably know some of them).

But born in Detroit, raised in Grosse Pointe, spent some time in Ypsi/Ann Arbor, then fled to San Francisco, where I lived for ten years.
