A Question of Torture: CIA Interrogation and the War on Terror
A Question of Torture: CIA Interrogation and the War on Terror

Alfred McCoy is best known for his work on the CIA’s relationship to international drug trafficking. A Question of Torture: CIA Interrogation from the Cold War to The War on Terror (New York, Henry Holt, 2006) investigates the history of CIA secret torture and torture training.
“This abuse was not the work of ‘recycled hillbillies’ on the ‘night shift’ at Abu Ghraib. It was instead the product of a half-century of history that reached back to the darkest recesses of the Cold War and…extended all the way to the highest levels in Washington.”
