This thing's a third of the way done, and there's 2 inches outside, tops.

1. They keep saying more
I just saw the weather report on NECN, and they're still saying 20-24 inches.

3. The worst part is supposed to be after midnight
I'm betting on 12-14" and not the 20-30" the weather idiots are predicting. :eyes:

5. Maybe we should bet on that
you live in a snow belt.

The South Shore and Cape are supposed to get the brunt of the storm. I hope I can work from home and not have to go into the office on Monday!

9. The good news
Is that the stuff is like dust. It's so cold I guess that the snow is dry and fluffy. I just shoveled about 5 inches and the hardest part was keeping it on my shovel even in light wind.

12. In Hopkinton
You probably posted that a day before me, but today it looks like we have at least two feet. We get a ton of snow here because we're up on hills.

11. I've got at least a foot of snow here and it's snowing like a mofo
It is wild outside! I've haven't seen blowing and drifting snow like this since 1978.

17. 25" here, too
Wow, it was up to mid-thigh as I was trying to heave myself through the drift at the end of the drive.

18. I was skeptical
until my husband went outside and the snow was up to his waist. Shoveling out will be a bitch -- and the snow still hasn't stopped out here.

19. snow blower
my wife and I were working out the math on the purchase of a snow blower. last year we thought it was not justifiable, this year we're not so sure.

20. how about a used snowblower ??
if nothing else, start with a used one ... i think they're a must if you have a driveway to clear ...

the only drawback to older units, if they are properly tuned up, is that they sometimes lack the safety features newer models have ... but if you don't do stupid things, you should be fine ...

and then, when you're ready, you can usually sell your used unit and buy a new one ...

good new units run close to $1000 ... it's really nice to have electric start too ... used units i've seen run anywhere from $200 to $700 ...
