Tomorrow or bust! I've got to do the foolish Medicare supplement.
I just went through a 24 page Blue Cross document on-line. Nowhere could I find out how much the darn things cost.
I have met with the Tufts people who put it all on paper. No "call us and we'll tell you baloney" like BCBS. Since I am fortunate enough to be in good health-at least for now, I will not buy the drug coverage. Can't afford it. I do want a plan that will pick up the 20% that Medicare will not.

Anyone here use Tufts?(HMO) I'm leaning that way. My Doc and local hospital are part of their network.

All through my life I have had BCBS and never liked them. Nothing has changed there.

2. Had a lot of health plans through the years and Tufts was the only decent one, imho
They were the only one I didn't have to fight with. Though I don't know anything about their Medicare plan. I've hated--and fought with--Blue Cross for years. Non-profit my ass!

3. Done, went with Tufts. Easy to deal with and I feel they are upfront
about each of the plans offered. Their charts are easy to read and prices are clear. I can't afford one with drug coverage, that will have to wait until I find a job.

The paperwork is put away for the first time in months. I can see the top of my coffee table.
I feel relieved.

4. I've heard their coverage is spotty on the south shore.
I went with UHC, whom I've had prior to hitting 65 this month.

The last thing I want is to find out that a caregiver doesn't participate in a particular plan.

You're right, it IS a mess trying to figure out which is best. ARRRRRGGGGGHHH!!!

5. I have a huge book with the complete list of docs, facilities,
hospitals, all types of providers. Any questions and I'll look it up for you. Just PM me. I met with their representatives and was impressed.

Any subscriber has 3 months to change coverage, upgrade or whatever. Call them.
If it is of interest, PM me and Ill send you the Rep's number. I am bewildered by the whole thing, just as you. I did not buy Dental...No $$. As it is, I will have to wait until next year to up to a better range of coverage if I find a job. There are about 6 options, with and without Drugs.

The policy and option decisions are hard for the experts, what about us?
