A South Boston woman was arrested yesterday after she allegedly got out of her car, reached into the window of an elderly motorist who had made a U-turn, and pulled out a clump of her hair, according to authorities.
Sheila A. Lynch, 50, who is a sister of US Representative Stephen F. Lynch, was charged with assault and battery on a person over 60 after the incident around noon on East Broadway in South Boston, authorities said. She was arraigned in South Boston District Court and released on her own recognizance.
The 73-year-old woman told police that Lynch approached her car, kicked her door, scratched the hood with a cellphone, and then pulled her hair out after the woman made the turn, according to a police report. The alleged victim complained of chest pains and was taken to Boston Medical Center.
