Funeral Held For Mass. Soldier Killed In Iraq

Service Attended By Governor

BELCHERTOWN, Mass. --

Hundreds of people turned out this weekend for the funeral of a
Belchertown soldier killed while on duty in Iraq earlier this month.

The Department of Defense said Private First Class Kenneth Iwasinski,
22, died from injuries he suffered after an improvised explosive device
detonated near his vehicle.


Army Private First Class Kenneth J. Iwasinski,
22, of Belchertown, was killed in Iraq. His father
said he had a strong sense of patriotism.


A service at Belchertown High School on Saturday was attended by Gov.
Deval Patrick and Lt. Gov. Tim Murray.

Iwasinski was assigned to the Second Infantry Division based in Fort Carson, Colo
