Middlesex, Suffolk, Essex Senate District Wide Open

All it takes is a dollar and a dream: the nomination deadline for the Middlesex, Suffolk, and Essex Senate seat, currently vacant after the resignation of noble Fluff-fighter Jarrett Barios, is today. There are seven declared Democratic candidates for the seat -- all with significant weaknesses. Why not you? This race is wide open, and all you need is 52 signatures, according to our own jconway. The primary is September 11.

# Jeff Ross. First of the candidates to make an appearance on BMG, where he won an "excellent" introduction from the "Massachusetts Machiavelli:" our own David K. "The progressive candidate," according to his website. Met with some skepticism in the comments.

# Anthony Galluccio. Kicked off his race in mid-July with Ken "No receipts" Reeves at his side. Lots of unanswered questions from his alleged December 2005 drunk driving incident, in which he caused a four-car accident, which followed earlier busts for drunk driving in 1984, and 1997. He failed to sign his 2005 accident report, and repeatedly refused to explain his whereabouts before the accident -- awkward. Did not live in the district in 2006.
