Reminder: Sign up for Party for Equality Weekend
Edited on Tue Mar-27-07 06:34 AM by IanDB1
Please Read, Take Action and Forward

Preserving marriage equality once and for all can be as easy as staying home. MassEquality is launching Party for Equality weekend on April 28th and 29th.

We must have 100 house parties around the state to send a strong message to all legislators that Massachusetts voters care about protecting marriage equality. We are a third of the way to our goal, but that is not good enough.

Help us reach our goal by Friday! Sign up to host a house party. http://www.mebuilder.com/12/lt/t_go.php?i=817&e=NzA5OTAyOA==&l=http://www.massequality.org/action/houseparty.php

The vote on marriage equality is six weeks away. Help us keep discrimination out of our constitution once and for all.

Yours in Equality,

Sarah Light and Jesse Sullivan

MassEquality.org was formed as a coalition dedicated to ensuring that the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decision on marriage equality is upheld, and that any anti-gay amendment or legislation is defeated.

There is one great way to protect marriage equality this spring without leaving your home:
Host a MassEquality House Party!

Our opponents were successful in advancing the discriminatory amendment on January 2nd and now the amendment is just one legislative vote away from moving on to the 2008 ballot.

Help us identify allies in the struggle for equality NOW, before it's too late.

MassEquality will be launching Party for Equality weekend on April 28th and 29th. We must have 100 house parties around the state to send a strong message to all legislators that marriage equality must be protected no matter what.

Hosting a house party is easy and fun. The goal of these house parties is to bring friends and family together to create a network of pro-equality allies around the state.

To be a host you only need:

* A space to throw the party
* Friends to invite
* To be available to have the party Saturday April 28th or Sunday April 29th (We would like to throw all the parties this weekend, but can be flexible. Please don't hesitate to call us even if these dates don't work for you.)
* A commitment to preserving marriage equality and beating back this anti-gay amendment

You can host a party at your home, your neighbor’s home, your church or another community area.

You can have 10 or 100 guests.

You can provide food or throw a potluck.

You can invite only your friends or we can help you invite MassEquality members in your area to your party.

There are many options and the choices are yours. We look forward to working with you to help you throw a party that is fun for everyone involved. We will help you brainstorm for your guest list, your invitations and help plan your party. In addition, we will provide you with a host packet and will send you all the pro-equality materials you will need for your party.
