What's with this practice? Just trying to get their name out more?

In Charles County, I've seen Al Smith most frequently. He couldn't have my vote if he paid off my house.

1. I tell all my candidates
that this is a complete waste of time.

2. Good idea.
Of course, they probably don't listen. They just stand out there, freezing their butts and wasting their time. :eyes:

3. For the primary, they were all out.
In Howard County saw alot of people along side the road at major intersections here in HoCo. They tended to be fringe candidates without much backing.

Don't know how much impact it has.

4. We have lots of them in Montgomery County.
This Saqib Ali was standing on the roadsides months ago, leading up to the Democratic primary. Everywhere I drove, there was Ali. His signs are the most common in the area. Having a short name and a big sign really helps.

He is running for the Maryland House of Delegates from Legislative District 39. I voted for him; anybody that works as hard as he does. I also liked his platform.

His Repub challenger, Bill Witham, has a funny slogan, which is "Better Witham than without him!". He has also been out there in the median. I was a good boy, I didn't turn my wheel slightly and run him over.

5. Not in Baltimore City
I work in Towson and I see candidates doing the roadside wave all the time there.
